Boxing returns to the Hulu Theater inside Madison Square Garden as Matchroom Boxing and DAZN bring you a special super middleweight attraction. Undefeated contender Edgar ‘The Chosen One’ Berlanga (20-0, 16 KOs) goes up against the tough, hard-hitting Jason Quigley (20-2, 14 KOs).
This is the inaugural fight for Berlanga, who recently signed with Matchroom after spending his young career at Top Rank, where he became ‘The Monster.’ After back-to-back mediocre performances and Berlanga wanting to be paid as a star, both he and Top Rank split ways, and he became a free agent for only a short period before Eddie Hearn signed him with the hopes of a Canelo Alvarez fight down the road.
Quigley was a good prospect at one point but then lost when he stepped up in competition with the likes of Tuerano Johnson and Demetrius ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade, whom he lost to by stoppage in both fights. Now Quigley has another tough test in front of him with Berlanga but has the boxing IQ to potentially give Berlanga some issues, especially if he is forced to think in there. Can Quigley pull the upset in NYC?
