William Foster III faces Fradimil Macayo for WBA Regional title in Plant City, Florida

William Foster III Vs Fradimil Macayo takes the headline slot on July 12th in Plant City, Florida. The pair will battle for a WBA regional title in the super featherweight division over 10 rounds.

Foster III (15-0, 9 KOs) comes off two good victories heading into the clash with Macayo. The New Haven native took the undefeated Edwin De Los Santos the distance to clinch a split decision victory in Orlando early last year, going on to get another closely fought decision win over Avery Sparrow just under a year ago in Philadelphia. The 29 year old will be looking to push on being ranked within the top 15 of the WBA rankings.

Macayo (16-1, 13 KOs) makes his American debut next week. The Venezuelan knockout artist comes off a unanimous decision victory over the undefeated Armando Ramirez Almanza in Mexico, having previously stopped Humberto Martinez and Carlos Saenz in Colombia. The entirety of Macayo’s career prior to those fights took place in his homeland.

The chief support will provide fight fans with a 10 round contest at super middleweight between Lester Martinez (15-0, 13 KOs) and Lucas de Abreu (14-3, 11 KOs). Martinez is in good form fast becoming the man to avoid at 168 pounds, the Guatemalan KO king knocked out Isaiah Steen in April in his last outing. Brazilian champion de Abreu was last in action on ProBox TV in February, going the distance with Darrelle Valsaint losing the decision.

Opening the televised broadcast will see the undefeated Kelvin Davis (8-0, 5 KOs) square off with Derrick Whitley Jr (7-3-1) over six rounds at welterweight. ProBox TV regular Najee Lopez (6-0, 5 KOs) will go up against the experienced Christopher Brooker (16-13, 6 KOs) at super middleweight to round off the televised action in Florida.
