Wilder Awaits Andy Ruiz Jr. Fight

Deontay Wilder is mere weeks away from his 2022 return to the ring against Robert Helenius on FOX pay-per-view, on October 15th, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Despite having such a big event on his schedule - Wilder eagerly awaits the next challenge.

You gotta speak things into existence,” Wilder said on The Last Stand Podcast with Brian Custer seemingly speaking about a future Andy Ruiz Jr fight. “October 15th I’ve got to handle business in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.”

Last month, Ruiz took at a Wilder after he got an unanimous decision win over Luis Ortiz in Los Angeles, California.

“If Deontay Wins in October, me and him are with the same management and we can make this fight happen,” Ruiz said. “Let’s do it. Let’s get it on.”

Apparently, the former WBC heavyweight world champion heard the cries from Ruiz Jr., and now wants to answer.

“Once I handle business I’m always confident in myself … I’m looking forward to having a fight with Ruiz, for sure.”

It is clear from Wilder’s comments, if he gets by Robert Helenius it is very likely we see a bout between Deontay Wilder vs. Andy Ruiz Jr., next.
