Vuong makes it two wins from two in Newcastle

Cameron Vuong made it two wins from two in the co-main event to Shabaz Masoud’s super-bantamweight contest against Jose Sanmartin in Newcastle.

Vuong made his professional debut as part of the supporting cast to the thrilling encounter between Leigh Wood and Josh Warrington last month and returned to his native North-East with a comfortable victory over John Henry Mosqueura (5-4).

Vuong would have to negate around the unorthodox nature of Mosqueura, with Mosqueura showboating at times when Vuong could land telling shots on multiple occasions throughout.

The contest, of a lacklustre nature, was ultimately dominated by Vuong from round three onwards, who finally established his jab and patterns needed to box comfortably to victory.

In the final round of a scheduled six, Vuong could have possibly attempted to secure a stoppage victory with Mosqueuta wobbled ever so slightly.

Ultimately, after six rounds of boxing, the contest was ruled in favour of Vuong with a winning score total of 60-54.
