With speculation furthering over the weekend that Ryan Garcia will seemingly fight Gervonta “Tank” Davis, rumored for Showtime Pay-Per-View, April 15 in Las Vegas, when spotted at this weekend’s fights in Pomona, California, Lomachenko’s views on this fight was one of the major talking points for the prizefighter.
“It depends on how they prepare for this fight, if they prepare 100%. It will be very, very interesting and very hard, tough for both because they understand boxing,” Lomachenko stated to a group of reporters gathered around him at the Fox Theater in Pomona, California, after the modern classic that was Luis Nery versus Azat Hovhannisyan.
“I think, my opinion, Gervonta Davis will win because he is very technical, he has the power, he has the speed, and he knows how he needs to move, and he always fights guys who are bigger than him,” furthered Lomachenko.“I think Davis will finish him."
On Saturday it was reported by Mike Coppinger of ESPN.com, that the mega-fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia will happen as both contracts are signed, with a pending announcement coming soon.
“Both Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia signed contracts for an April 15 super fight in Las Vegas at a 136-pound catchweight, sources tell ESPN,” tweeted ESPN.com's Mike Coppinger. “DAZN, which broadcasts Garcia's fights, received a contract from Showtime today, and that portion should be finalized by end of weekend [February 20th].”

As for Lomachenko’s opinion, though he thinks it will be an interesting fight, Lomachenko favors Davis to win based on Davis’ skill, power, and speed.
