Usyk Sets Sights On Wilder If He Beats Helenius

Two-division world champion and current WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk is a bit frustrated it might seem with Tyson Fury publicly negotiating a fight with Anthony Joshua possibly for December.

Why?

Well, Usyk beat him twice, and fairly convincingly as well. So the man who holds the only other world title in the division, Fury, may fight the profitable fighter in the heavyweight division in Joshua, but he might not face his true rival for greatness in this era in Usyk this year.

This prompted Usyk to let Ring Magazine know he is now targeting the winner of Deontay Wilder versus Robert Helenius, which will be a pay-per-view event on October 15th, taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Usyk also stated that he intends to be ringside for the fight this fall.

Though no public comments have been made expressing sheer frustration with Fury’s public talks with Anthony Joshua, it is clear - Usyk wants to be in another marquee fight and is not waiting for Fury to be that fighter.
