Tyson Fury Not Interested In Usyk Fight

“I am not interested in [Usyk],” said Tyson Fury to Umar of IFLTV in reference to Oleksandr Usyk, whom he didn’t refer to in name in his comment. “If comes to the fight I promise I will slap him in the mouth.”

A bold decry from Tyson Fury, who faces Derek Chisora for the third time in his career this Saturday, in the U.K. The bout is rather unappealing to most, as Fury is the greatest modern heavyweight, and yet is fighting a rather unexciting opponent in Chisora, as opposed to Joe Joyce, Oleksandr Usyk, or another top name.

To further muddy this fight week, Fury let it be known, that he is not going to pay the sanctioning fee for the IBF world title if he did face Usyk, so a true “undisputed championship”, wouldn’t be on the line if the two were to fight.

“They all can get it,” said Fury in the conclusion of the interview. “But, to make it fair let’s have a Royal Rumble, throw all of us in there, put a hundred million dollars up, and the last man standing gets the lot.”
