The Madison Square Garden looks to be rocking on December 10th, with Teofimo Lopez and Sandor Martin vying for the WBC super lightweight #1 spot, which is on the line.
Lopez opened a Wonka Bar, made popular from the Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory movies, and books, in which he got a golden ticket. A direct reference to the franchise in which a golden ticket allowed the recipient to go visit Willy Wonka’s factory, in this case, Lopez is more than likely alluding to the fact that he is going to be fighting for world title next with a win.
The co-main will see a big step-up for Jared Anderson, who wore a mask with army fatigues and sunglasses during his face-off with Jerry Forrest.
Two notable undercard bouts are no longer happening as Bruce Carrington’s opponent, Juan Tapia was not cleared by the NYSAC prior to the fight, and Jahi Tucker missed the contracted weight of 148 lbs., causing too big of a gap for his fight with Ivan Pandzic to happen.
