Stevenson Thinks A Lomachenko Bout Is A Big Fight

After Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jamaine Ortiz, it is very clear another fight a lot of fight fans are eager in seeing is Lomachenko vs. Shakur Stevenson.

Stevenson has made it clear he will now fight at lightweight, and after a narrow win over Ortiz, that created even more heightened interest between the two potential hall-of-famers, if everything goes right could fight very soon.

Stevenson addressed this recently.

“Lomachenko, I think me and Loma could be a big fight,” Stevenson said when this was brought up to him on the DAZN Boxing Show. “Make it happen in the next one or two fights. I’m ready. It’s clear as day – their mind is already made up on that. They know that I’m ready. They ain’t going to sugarcoat me. They ain’t going to take me on cakewalks. They know I’m ready … Lomachenko wants those belts. His mind ain’t really focused on me.”

The key outlier. Devin Haney, who holds the four meaningful titles in the lightweight division, and is the undisputed champion, might get the next shot at Lomachenko. The only thing standing in the way of Shakur Stevenson facing Vasyl Lomachenko is, Devin Haney, as Lomachenko time after time has proven, he fights for legacy, first and foremost.

It is clear Stevenson would love to face the legend that is Lomachenko.
