Shakur Stevenson makes his lightweight debut in just under two weeks time against Shuichiro Yoshino at the Prudential Center, Newark. However, there is name that is constantly linked with the two-weight world champion.
“I know that Devin Haney is a tough opponent. I feel like me and him was bound to fight and meant to fight. Whether it’s right now or later. We’re two top-level fighters. When the time is right, we gonna pop it off.” Stevenson told Tha Boxing Voice.
“Honestly, after his fight with Lomachenko, if he’s willing to stay and I get a shortcut to getting all the belts at once, I’m down with that,”
Stevenson makes his debut at 135lbs on April 8 against Japan’s Yoshino (16-0, 12KOs) where fans will hope that he will finally fight opposition that warrants his ability.
The lightweight division has lots of mouthwatering matchups to be had, Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko is expected to be announced soon and Gervonta Davis clashes with Ryan Garcia.
