Spence Jr-Crawford Official For July 29

One of boxing’s most anticipated fights in the last decade will finally happen on July 29th at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

Errol Spence Jr (28-0, 22KOs) & Terence Crawford (39-0, 30KOs) will face off to decide welterweight supremacy with all the respective world governing body world titles up for grabs to determine who will be the number one rated welterweight fighter in the world.

Talks between the two respective fighters at various points over the previous years had started, stalled then collapsed, mainly due to fighting on differing networks and promotional entities due to Crawford’s long-standing relationship with Top Rank. Ultimately, this issue ended when Crawford refused to renew his promotional contract following his victory over former IBF & WBC World welterweight champion Shawn Porter in November of 2021.

Crawford holds the WBO world crown at 147lbs following previous stints as undisputed champion at super-lightweight and held the WBO world title at lightweight, his maiden world title. Crawford captured the WBO welterweight title in 2018 by defeating Jeff Horn in nine rounds and has made seven successful title defences.

Errol Spence Jr, holds the WBC, WBA & IBF world titles. Capturing the IBF crown against Kell Brook in 2017 via stoppage inside eleven rounds in Sheffield, UK. Spence Jr would add the WBC title in 2019 with a narrow split decision points win over Shawn Porter before adding the WBA strap in April of 2022 with a stoppage win over Yordenis Ugas.

Both fighters have taken to social media to confirm that the fight between the pair is taking place before Premier Boxing Champions confirms the fight on their social media platforms.

ProBox TV’s Paulie Malginaggi reacted to the announcement of the undisputed showdown stating as a whole, it is good for the sport
"This is good for boxing. This is what we all want to see. The best fight the best. It’s a pick em fight, I change my mind all the time who wins.

"But the best thing is this fight is good for boxing, and I hope it’s at welterweight for the world titles."
