Sheeraz and Williams make weight for showdown at the Copper Box

Hamzah Sheeraz and Liam Williams both weighed in under the middleweight limit for Saturday’s encounter at the Copper Box Arena in London.

They had been scheduled to fight on December 2 until Sheeraz suffered a perforated ear drum. At Friday’s weigh-in the 24 year old tipped the scales at 159.4lbs, narrowly heavier than Williams, 31, who weighed 159lbs.

On the undercard Anthony Yarde fights Marko Nikolic of Serbia in an attempt to secure the victory he hopes will lead to him fighting Joshua Buatsi. For the non-title contest Yarde was 177.7lbs, and therefore over the light heavyweight limit he typically fights at. He was regardless the lighter of the two; Nikolic weighed 179.6lbs.

At lightweight Sam Noakes fights his domestic rival Lewis Sylvester. Noakes weighed 134.6lb; Sylvester was 133.6lbs
