Shakur Wants Pitbull Cruz, But Will Take Other Top Contenders As Well

Shakur Stevenson is now a lightweight, and he wants the best possible fighters available.

The former featherweight and super featherweight world champion who lost his two world titles at 130 lbs to the scale prior to defeating Robson Conceicao is eager to fight the best at his new weight class.

At the WBC Convention, the WBC ordered a lightweight title eliminator between Shakur Stevenson and Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, while Devin Haney, the WBC champion, takes on #1 contender Vasiliy Lomachenko, seemingly next year.

“If the little puppy [Cruz] doesn’t want to fight let’s get who is next in line. Isn’t it William Zepeda or George Kambosos Jr.? It doesn’t really matter. I’m ready to smoke someone regardless,” Stevenson said on social media. “…Zepeda is the one whooping people, he’s the so-called boogeyman so let’s see what the hype is about.”

It is clear Stevenson wants to fight the best.
