Cromwell “Bullet” Gordon is a man on a mission. When people doubted him, he lead his main fighter Rolando “Rolly” Romero into the biggest fight of his career against Gervonta Davis on May 28th, in which Romero had a lot of success until being knocked out.
The bout which was one of the biggest events of the year has created a huge interest in Romero’s return, along with Tank Davis’, and Coach Bullet is confident that he will rebound quite nicely.
“We’re looking late this year, early next year,” said Gordon to Hans Themistode of BoxingScene.com.
Though many are hoping Romero returns against Adrien Broner in a fight that would pit two of the sports best trash-talkers up against one-and-another, another suitable foe being mentioned is Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz.
“We would like the rematch [with Gervonta Davis],” furthered Coach Bullet. “If we don’t get that, we’re looking at maybe someone that wants to fight us, which is not really a lot of people that want to fight Rolly. Pitbull is a willing and able opponent. I think that's a good fight. I think it’s a very, very good fight. I think it would sell as well.”
“Pitbull” Cruz coming off an exciting knockout win on the Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Luis Ortiz pay-per-view undercard, would match up two exciting contenders.
“He’ll be an easier fight than Tank because you're gonna stand there and go toe-to-toe. Rolly’s hitting harder than these guys. If you're standing in front of Rolly you're just a punching bag.”
