Rolando 'Rolly' Romero: 'Now it's Rolly vs Pitbull on Amazon Prime'

Leave it up to WBA junior welterweight champion Rolando “Rolly’ Romero (15-1, 13 KOs) to stir things up on a light boxing Saturday afternoon. Romero went on social media to air out his issues with recent events concerning potential fights while announcing a fight with Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz (25-2-1, 17 KOs) on Amazon.

Romero posted, “F$ck Princess Ryan Garcia, F*ck Oscar de la Fishnets, and f*ck DAZN, the shittiest streaming network out there for wasting my time, and more importantly, wasting the entire boxing world's time. It’s disgusting to see how you guys do business, then trying to go behind my back offering Pitbull an offer, then claiming I out priced myself. Y’all f*cked up. Now it’s Rolly Vs Pitbull on Amazon Prime, the largest network in boxing history. This fight is an explosion.”

Romero was previously linked to a potential fight with Ryan Garcia after Garcia went on social media and told his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, to make the fight. After about a week or so, De La Hoya said that fighters “price themselves out” and that Garcia vs. newly signed Jose Ramirez was close to getting done. Garcia disagreed with his promoter's proposal and posted on social media this week that the Ramirez fight wasn’t happening.

Although no one knows for sure if the Romero vs Cruz fight is truly set, as Rolly likes to troll on social media, it’s an intriguing fight if it ends up being truly set. Cruz is a big puncher who was Abdul ‘Tank’ Wahid’s toughest test to date, but he would be moving up to junior welterweight for the first time if the Romero fight happens. Cruz only fought once last year, which was a less-than-entertaining split decision against Giovanni Cabrera, so a Romero fight would be the type to regain the interest of the fight fans.
