Robbie Davies Jr Confirms Ankle Surgery Following Foley Defeat

Robbie Davies Jr has confirmed that he has undertaken ankle surgery following his third-round defeat to Darragh Foley in Liverpool this past Saturday at the M&S Bank Arena. Davies Jr suffered the injury following a knockdown in the second round of his scheduled encounter, falling awkwardly on his right side. Davies Jr’s would ultimately injure the same leg as it gave way, twisting his ankle fully in a disturbing fashion at that point, trainer Shane McGuigan withdrew Davies Jr immediately in the third round.

Davies Jr was initially scheduled to face the unbeaten Liam Paro (23-0) in Liverpool; however, the Australian withdrew from the contest due to injury. 

Davies took to social media to give updates on his injury, ultimately, after a second opinion for a specialist confirmed that he needed surgery.

Robbie has since had the operation required on his injury, which shocked many viewers on DAZN, given the severity and gruesome nature of the damage.
