Jake Donovan of BoxingScene.com was the first to report that the battle for the vacant WBC 130 lbs world title between Rey Vargas vs. O’Shaquie Foster is agreed to in principle.
The two sides beat the November 8th deadline to negotiate terms for the match-up, set by the WBC. Though a date isn’t set, the belief is that the fight will fall under a Premier Boxing Champions event. Rey Vargas fights on the PBC platform, and Foster is signed with Probellum.
The title is currently vacant after Shakur Stevenson missed weight leading into his bout with Robson Conceicao.
This will be Foster's first attempt at a world title, and Rey Vargas, he will be looking to be a three-weight world champion.
