Lightweight, Bader Samreen (7-0) continued his unbeaten start as a professional fighter with an impressive stoppage against Viorel Simion (23-9) inside the opening ninety seconds in Saudi Arabia. A fast start from the Jordanian, Samreen, saw Simion looking to close the gap due to the size advantage of Samreen. Samreen landed a fast combination flush onto Simion finishing with a right hand which saw the Romanian drop to the canvas. Simion attempted to rise to his feet however the fight was waved off by the referee, David John Irwin after 1:26 of the opening frame.
Mushin Cason (10-0), brother of Hassim Rahman, claimed a first-round stoppage over Tayrel Jafarov after one completed round of boxing.
Cruiserweight, Cason was dominant and claimed a knockdown from an overhand right hand which sent Jafarov down heavily. Jafarov was able to survive the round despite being overwhelmed by the stalking nature of Cason. Jafarov was withdrawn in-between rounds by his coaching teaming citing injury.
Ziyaf Almaayouf was forced to overcome an early scare of a first-round knockdown against Ronnald Martinez and claim victory over a scheduled four rounds in a super-lightweight contest. Alammayouf (1-0) claimed victory via points in an entertaining contest against the game Martinez who fought to the end with both men having success with combination punching. Almaayouf claimed victory with scorecards of 38-37 across all three judges.
Badou Jack ( 27-3-3) rolled back the years to claim the WBC world cruiserweight world title against Illunga Makabu ( 29-2) and become a three-weight world champion with a dramatic twelfth-round stoppage. Badou scored two knock-downs in round four and round eleven respectively with both coming from the right hands of Jack. Makabu was dropped heavily on both occasions in a contest which flowed with both fighters landing successes. Jack was able to counter Makabu throughout the fight which ultimately led to Makabu being dropped. The ending came from a counter right hand which wobbled Makabu in the twelfth round and saw Jack go for the stoppage. An unanswered barrage of combination punches from Jack saw referee, Mark Lyson, halt the contest after 54 seconds of the final round.
