Regis Prograis to Devin Haney: 'Y'all tryin to pull some slick sh*t'

A few weeks ago, Mike Coppinger from ESPN broke the news that WBC junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis (29-1, 24 KOs) had agreed to face the current undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) for Prograis’ title on October 28. Both fighters confirmed on separate posts that the fight was indeed happening. This matchup adds to the list of great fights made this year, making it one of the best in the sport's history.

Earlier tonight, Prograis went on Instagram to express his frustrations on some of the things he sees going on behind the scenes. Prograis said, “You know me and Haney are supposed to fight, right? We agreed on the date. We agreed to everything, and now they are trying to move the date and stuff like that. The Haneys, I know ya smart, but ya some smart b*tches at the same time. Y’all pulling some dirty sh*t. Not dirty, y’all trying to pull some slick sh*t. But we ain’t going for that.” Prograis goes on to say that he signed the contract already and that Haney is trying to play games.

Haney immediately commented on the post and said, “Ni**a train.. & let me & yo boss Eddie finish ironing out these details on the contract including the venue. If you was in tune, then you would know that the hold for the venue in Vegas wasn’t locked in, so we’re figuring it out. Stop tryna get out this shit”.

We all believe that these details will get sorted out, but until then, there will more than likely be more of these virtual jabs thrown at each other from Prograis and Haney until they do it in the ring at some point in the fall.
