PREVIEW: FRANCIS-SARACHO HEADLINES PROBOX TV, WEDNESDAY JAN 25, MALIGNAGGI ADDS

Cesar Francis looks to remain undefeated, as he faces off against ambitious Mexican Jesus Saracho, with the winner looking to solidify themselves as a viable world title contender.

Francis has been a mainstay on ProBox TV, having produced a variety of skilled performances against former world champions Mohamed Mimmoune and Ray Beltran whilst also demolishing Francisco Armenta with a KO of the Year candidate.

Francis, originally from Panama, was raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York, a stones throw away from Paulie Malignaggi, who was raised in the Bensonhurst area of the New York borough. Malignaggi will once again be analyzing Francis’ fight from ringside on ProBox TV.

Saracho hails from Mexico, and looks to continue to follow in the footsteps of Mexican greats such as Juan Manuel Marquez, who came back from early career losses to establish themselves as one of boxing’s greats.

Saracho has won his last two outings by KO against solid opposition, and he will be looking to impress Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez, who will be bringing you commentary in Spanish on Wednesday night.

The January 25th undercard features multi time Mexican national champion Oscar Alvarez, who takes a step up in class in his eighth pro fight against former regional title holder Nicholas Polanco of the Dominican Republic. The pair clash over 8 rounds at super featherweight.

Brazilian hope Jonhatan Cardoso looks to bounce back as he faces undefeated opposition in Jose Arrellano of Mexico over 8 rounds at lightweight, with Cardoso looking to show why he was one of Brazil’s most highly touted prospects.

Also featuring are rising stars Jorge Carlos of Kansas City, MI and Lorenzo Medina of Miami, FL. Paulie Malignaggi, a long term figure at ProBox TV, gave his input on Wednesday’s event. The former 2-weight world champion said, “It’s a fun card with some really action packed fights that are unmissable really. Cesar Francis is looking for the big names at 140, so he has to look good here in order to establish that he’s a threat to the likes of Teofimo Lopez, Arnold Barboza and the other big names at 140.

“Oscar Alvarez is an exciting prospect with a ton of amateur experience, so I’m looking forward to seeing how he looks as a pro now he’s boxing in the USA. Jonhatan Cardoso was one of Brazil’s hottest prospects so I want to see him in an entertaining fight and hopefully get back to winning ways."

“There’s some entertaining prospects filling up the card in the case of Lorenzo Medina and Jorge Carlos, so I’m really excited to call the card live on ProBox TV.”
