Oscar De La Hoya to Eddie Hearn: 'Stay in your lane'

Golden Boy Promotion’s own Oscar De La Hoya has been on a virtual tear lately. It was first the awkward back-and-forth exchange with his fighter Ryan Garcia. De La Hoya was reacting to a video that Garcia was seen telling his trainer how no one was there for him after the Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis fight. De La Hoya took offense to that and ranted about it. Of course, Garcia reacted, saying, “Weren’t you just promoting the fake Pac fight that I already told you I’m not accepting. You really think Ima fall for that bull twice.” That was three days ago, and things got quiet afterward.

Shortly after that, Eddie Hearn was interviewed on IFL TV and was asked about the situation between De La Hoya and Garcia. Hearn then said, “I’ve never seen anything like him. Oscar De La Hoya is just an accident waiting to happen. What is he doing? First, the relationship is so f%cked (Between De La Hoya & Garcia). Everyone in boxing knows that. Everyone in boxing knows this is ending one way; in a courtroom.” I guess De La Hoya heard the audio and decided to tweet something that was later deleted. De La Hoya tweeted, “@EddieHearn stay in your lane!! This is a warning” Clearly, the Golden Boy is referring to the interview where Hearn opines on the situation. Both promoters have exchanged verbal jabs in the past, and this seems to be another round of that.

Stay tuned as ProBoxTV continues to monitor this developing story.
