Vergil Ortiz vs. Fredrick Lawson: Live Stream, Betting Odds & Fight Card

It’s a new year, and with that, boxing is ready to get it started as Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN have a card on Saturday live from the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, NV. Vergil Ortiz Jr. (19-0, 19 KOs) will make his junior middleweight debut against Fredrick Lawson (30-3, 22 KOs).

This is an interesting fight as Ortiz hasn’t been in the ring for a fight since August 2022, which was against Michael McKinson, where he earned a ninth-round TKO victory. Ortiz has had some medical issues that prevented him from stepping into the ring twice. Now, the 25-year-old wants to put all that aside and regain his momentum from 2022. He reunited with the great Robert Garcia after they hash out the miscommunication they once had. Are we going to see Ortiz finally step into the ring on Saturday night?

Lawson is riding a two-fight win streak after losing by tenth-round TKO against Charles Hatley in 2021. Lawson does have some power, but will he be able to weather through the onslaught of punches that Ortiz will throw? He’s a heavy betting underdog and looks to claim the upset of the year during the first week of 2024.
