Okolie and Light weigh-in ahead of Cruiserweight world title fight

Lawrence ‘The Sauce’ Okolie and David ‘The Great White’ Light weighed in for their WBO Cruiserweight title fight without too much fuss. The weigh-in from Manchester, England, saw both men make the championship weight where two undefeated records are on the line.

Light (20-0, 12 KOs) came in comfortably under the cruiserweight limit at 198lbs and 5oz. World champion Okolie came in bang on the money at precisely 200lbs.

Okolie has been out of the ring for over a year and also switched trainers, there have murmors of inactivity potnetially upsetting The Sauce.

“Just to show boxing. There is a lot of talk of my punching power and all this stuff, I’m going to show I’m on a different level to all of these basic guys.” The cruiserweight world champion (18-0, 14 KO’s) calmly stated on Sky Sports. “Mid rounds stoppage.” Okolie said when asked of his prediction.

David Light told Sky Sports immediately after making the championship weight that he felt “good. I’m going to have a feed and a sleep and get that belt” Light continued when asked on his nerves “You get in the ring and it’s all the same, you know? You just get in there and do what you have to do! I feel the best I’ve ever been. Whatever happens, I’m giving it my best.”
