Emanuel Navarrete was set to face Oscar Valdez this past weekend until he got hurt.
Navarrete would hit the deck and look bad in his second consecutive fight, but still survive to win his third world title in his third weight class that said, he wants the big fights
“I need these big fights,” Navarrete said to Jake Donovan of BoxingScene.com. “I need to prove to everyone and myself what I’m capable of.”
After a rambunctious fight against Liam Wilson, Navarrete hopes to defend his title against Oscar Valdez later this year which is the fight he wants, and the fight fans as well.
“I’m made of strength, power, heart and that Mexican spirit that never lets me down,” explained Navarrete. “This was an amazing victory. It tested me. I needed to know that I could get off the canvas and come back to win the fight."
