On Saturday night, Showtime Boxing will televise its last show, and the event will take place at The Armory in Minneapolis, MN. WBA super middleweight champion David Morrell (9-0, 8 KOs) will take on Sena Agbeko (28-2, 22 KOs) in a matchup that doesn’t appear to serve as any threat to the Cuban champion.
Morrell made quick work of Yamaguchi Falcao in April, which gave the 25-year-old champion only one round of fighting this year. Although he has consistently called out interim WBC champion David Benavidez, there doesn’t appear to be too much interest in that fight just yet, even though Benavidez’s promoter, Sampson Boxing, has said in a few interviews that he has a signed contract for the two to fight. Morrell is the division's future but will have to wait a little longer before getting the big fight he craves.
In his PBC on FS1 debut, the highly touted Cuban amateur @OsvaryJ picked up right where he left off, knocking out Quinton Rankin in his 2nd professional bout by RD2 KO.

Agbeko is 31, and a fighter matched up with Morrell to give him some rounds. Although he won his October fight by second-round TKO last year, he went the distance with Isaiah Steen, and nine rounds with Winfred Harris Jr. Agebko has only allowed six of his wins to go the distance. He may try to take advantage of the less experienced Morrell to win the fight and get the WBA title.
DAVID MORRELL VS. SENA AGBEKO PREDICTION
Morrell is coming into his own, and it’s only fitting that the future closes Showtime’s doors as we head into 2024. It will take some rounds for Morrell to break down Agbeko, but he will stop him around the eighth round.
