ProBoxTV kicks things off this week with another edition of Wednesday Night Fights (WNF). The main event on this card marks the return of featherweight contender Angelo Leo (22-1, 10 KOs) as he faces the tough veteran Mike Plania (29-3, 16 KOs). Leo will look to continue his winning ways as he is determined to land a title fight within the next 12 months.
Although Leo is going into this fight with a ton of confidence, he is not discounting his opponent, as mentioned in a ProBoxTV press release sent out earlier in the month. “I have seen Mike fight before, he is a good fighter,” Leo said. “He is explosive, and he is a formidable opponent.” Leo continued, “He fought [Joshua] Greer at 118 [lbs], I believe, and then he moved up to 122. His last fight was at 130 [lbs], and this one is at 126 [lbs]. He is kind of back-and-forth [between weight classes]…it doesn’t worry me, we are here to get that W.”
Plania is coming off a three-fight year where he went 2-1, with his last fight being a victory over Daniel Nicholas in December. Can Plania put it all together against Leo and create a huge upset?
