Since the news of Conor Benn being reinstated to the WBC rankings following two failed drug tests last year, a domestic duel with Kell Brook has been gathering. Brook has even been seen back in the gym and has vowed to return.
There has been some back-and-forth between Brook and Benn on twitter since a fight between the pair has been suggested.
The legs continue to get stronger on this story! Boxing King Media have just released some snippets from a sparring session between Kell Brook and Conor Benn to further entice British boxing fans. According to the video, the sparring took place three weeks before Brook’s defeat to Terence Crawford at the end of 2020.
In the one minute and thirty second video, the pair appear to be putting in some good work with both fighters looking sharp. The two touched gloves upon the end of the session.
Despite this potential fight involving two British fighters, it’s highly unlikely this one will take place on British shores anytime soon due to Conor Benn’s poor relationship with The British Boxing Board Of Control leading to Benn cancelling his British licence during the Chris Eubank Jr saga.
Promoter of Benn, Eddie Hearn has spoken openly about a fight with Manny Pacquiao, stating ‘The whole world will watch!’ When asked by reporters. However Hearn has mentioned about promoting a fight between Kell Brook and Conor Benn for some time.
Regardless of eggs or boxing federations, Conor is not short of any lucrative dance partners as he gears up for his return.
