Kazuto Ioka is far from a household name in North America, but when he fight on Super-Fly III, in Southern California, he might have had the most fans to watch him.
One of the greatest fighters of his era, the current WBO super flyweight, has been a pound-for-pound level fighter for years, but been in the shadow of Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, and Juan Francisco Estrada. Unbeaten for nearly five years and his last loss was a debatably one against Donnie Nietes, whom he beat this year.
Ioka, the stoic Japanese fighter, now will face Joshua Franco, the WBA super flyweight world champion, in unification bout on New Year’s Eve, in Japan.
This time the world has to take notice, as the winner of this, has a case for being the best in the division.
