Thunderdome returns September 1st with its 43rd installment of the popular bi-monthly promotion at the home of Western Australian boxing,Metro City.
22 year old rising prospect Jude Grant (3-0, 1 KO) will be looking to continue climbing the pro ranks when the highly touted super welterweight contender challenges Turkish Boxer Bahtiyar Sonyol for the WA State Championship.
Grant opened up about his second championship contest in as many fights.
“I started boxing just over 4 years ago and have loved every minute of it and feel like I'm improving every day. Training has been great, my team and I are really jelling. I’m improving everyday mentally and physically, my team mates Jordan Laruccia (5-0) & Millad Farzad (4-0) push me every day and we are all improving and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. I wish my opponent good luck, I hope he is training hard. He will need to bring his A-game. He comes from a solid gym and has great sparring such as, Fano Kori, who is in the main event against my team mate Jordan for the ANBF super welterweight championship. There are a couple others from the same gym too on the card, it’s a really stacked lineup.
“I really want to cement myself in the super welterweight division, it’s a very popular division for our country with the Tszyu’s, Tim & Nikita, Koen Mazoudier, Wade Ryan, Ben Mahoney, Jack Brubaker and the line up goes on and on. I would like to fight them all and challenge myself. I can’t wait to put on a show for the Perth public on September 1st. There’s so much talent on this card, it’s a must see show at Metro City & I'm very honoured to be in a featured fight for the State Championship."
