Joshua Buatsi Swipes At Eddie Hearn And DAZN Upon Signing With BOXXER

Today saw the announcement that the highly touted light heavyweight Joshua Buatsi will now ply his trade on Sky Sports alongside promotional outfit Boxxer.

Buatsi (18-0) had had a full career with Matchroom claiming an Olympic Silver medal. However, Joshua Buatsi has spoken negatively about his time with Eddie Hearn and streaming service DAZN telling IFL TV.

“I was not happy on that channel.” Buatsi continued with some substance regarding the failed Dmitry Bivol negotiations. “Imagine fighting for a million pound and that’s it! Of course I would have said yes if that was it, but that wasn’t it! There were so many caveats that came with it, extensions, extra fights. Which would of equated to another two or three years on DAZN. If I wasn’t happy at that channel? Why would I agree to that?”

Joshua Buatsi made it no secret that he was unhappy with the size of audience at DAZN, stating in today’s press conference on Sky Sports.

“The most important thing is that people have the access to watch my fights. I asked myself, how many people saw it (my last fight). For the blood and sweat I shared in that fight (with Craig Richards) it’s important that people can watch it.”

Buatsi has also moved on from 258 Management to revitalise his career at 30 years of age. But was much more amicable than the split with Matchroom.

The Croydon based star is perched quite nicely with the rankings. Buatsi sits within the top two of the WBC, WBA and WBO, not to mention that he occupies the 14th spot within the IBF.
