Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall will rematch, but now it will be over a year before they get it on again.
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has confirmed that the February 4th date is now off the table, and a date of later in February or some point in March is the new envisioned goal.
The great reporter Keith Idec of BoxingScene.com discovered Taylor-Catterall postponement allowed more time to pass for Sky Sports Box Office pay-per-view shows in the United Kingdom and Ireland. British middleweights Chris Eubank Jr. and Liam Smith are fighting on pay-per-view on Jan. 21st, which isn’t far removed rom the Feb. 4th date.
The two fighters have unfinished business as Catterall feels he should’ve been awarded the victory for the previous fight, and Taylor feels as though he needs to prove he is still a top-ten pound-for-pound fighter.
