Joseph Diaz vs Mercito Gesta Weigh-In Results

Joseph "JoJo" Diaz (32-3-1, 15KOs) and Mercito Gesta embraced their new roles of headlining March 18th’s Golden Boy Promotions card in Long Beach, California by both making weight for a twelve-round contest set at 140lbs. Diaz, who is looking to snap out of a two-fight losing streak, weighed in at a career heaviest of 139.4 lbs. The former IBF world super-featherweight title holder is coming off back-to-back defeats to Devin Haney (2021, UD) & William Zepeda (2022 UD12), respectively.

Gesta (33-3-3), who saw a proposed fight with Ryan Garcia slip through his fingers as Garcia opted to face Gervonta Davis without a warm-up fight (scheduled for April 22), weighed in at 137.2 lbs.

The pair headline due to the original main attraction, Gilberto Ramirez, missing the scheduled 175lb contest with Gabriel Rosado by 7.6 lbs coming in at 182.6 lbs. This led to Ramirez vs Rosado being pulled from the card, with Diaz vs Gesta replacing the main event slot.

The co-main event saw Oscar Duarte (24-1-1, 19KOs) weigh in at 135.6lbs with opponent Alex Martin (18-4, 6KOs) weighing in at 135.4lbs to contest an agreed 136lb ten-round contest.
