Jorge Linares: Loma Is Not The Same Anymore

This weekend we saw Vasiliy Lomachenko get a narrow victory over Jamaine Ortiz at the top of an ESPN+ undercard bout.

A former rival, who one could say presented the problems of size and speed first to Lomachenko Jorge Linares spoke to boxingscene.com about Lomachenko, as he faced him back in 2018.

“Lomachenko is Lomachenko but he’s not the same,” said Linares to BoxingScene.com.  “I respect both. I’m very good friends with both Lomachenko and Haney too. If that fight happens, it’s 60/40. For me, Haney has the best time right now. He’s quick, he’s fast, he has power. He moves so well in the ring.”

It is clear that even though Linares respect Lomachenko, he also feels father time is undefeated and favors Haney currently if the current undisputed lightweight world champion were to fight Lomachenko.
