Joe Joyce Praises Parker Following Breakthrough Performance

Joe Joyce was the name on everyones lips this past Saturday following his impressive performance against former WBO world heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, winning in dominating fashion sealed by an eleventh round knockout of the New Zealender. It was a coming of age performance for the Brit, of whom is 37 years old and hasn't got time to hanging around if he is to claim an opportunity against unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, WBC world champion Tyson Fury or against another big name in the division against the likes of Wilder, Ruiz, Ortiz, Whyte, Chisora, Hrgovic and the likes.

The fight this past Saturday had excitement, bravery and the ingredients of being of the most competitive heavyweight contests on UK in recent years. Joyce says so himself after giving Parker his maiden stoppage defeat of his career.

"It was a tough fight and praise to Joseph Parker because he's improved and he gave me a tough fight. I really enjoyed it but it was tough in there and I had to dig deep to get through the rounds.

"I hit him with everything I've got literally, the kitchen sink, the handbag, everything. Body shots, I tried it all but he was still coming forward, game and I managed to drop him at the end but it was hard work."
