Mere days after Robeisy Ramirez decried himself the face of the featherweight division, he will now be seeking a new opponent for his October 29 ESPN co-feature battle from Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater in New York City.
Jake Donovan of BoxingScene.com first reported that Jessie Magdaleno is no longer able to fight Ramirez due to an undisclosed injury.
This marks an alarming trend for Magdaleno as the fight has only fought twice in nearly four years. Beyond that, Magdaleno passed on a vacant world title fight due to an injury against Emanuel Navarrete which allowed Ruben Villa a chance to fight for a world title.
This comes as yet another major blow to the career of the former world champion, Magdaleno, who a few years back looked like a vibrant and promising potential breakout star, but has never fully come back to form since his loss to Isaac Dogboe.
