Unified 154lbs champion Jermell Charlo is more than receptive to the idea of fighting Terence Crawford, if the pound for pounder decides to move up in weight.
Crawford, one of the best at 147, has been unable to nail down the fight the sport has craved – with Errol Spence – for several years, but Spence’s stablemate, Charlo, claims he would be a willing dance partner.
Crawford has not previously ruled out moving up in weight, and Charlo told The Last Stand Podcast he would be waiting for the Omaha man if he decides to venture up.
“Whatever, guy, you get your paperwork right, talk to Mr Haymon, and we’ll get a fight going,” said Charlo. “Let’s get a big fight going.”
Charlo, 32, and 35-year-old Crawford have crossed paths on social media before and Charlo continued that war of words on The Last Stand.
Charlo could face mandatory challenger Tim Tszyu next after the Australian stopped Tony Harrison, while Crawford is expected to box under the Golden Boy Promotions umbrella.
