The man who opened the door for Minnesota boxing, Jamal “Shango” James will make his return Saturday, Feb. 25 during a Premier Boxing Champions event at The Armory in Minneapolis.
James will take on Alberto Palmetta to start the Showtime televised triple-header.
The card now stands as a main event world title fight between Subriel Matias vs.Jeremias Ponce for the vacant IBF 140 lbs world title, and Elvis Rodriguez vs. Joseph Adorno in 140 lbs bout.
“Every fight is important. You don’t want to lose any fight,” James said. “This fight is obviously very important because it will put me back on track to get a title opportunity again. It’s also important to me to let people know I am still in the mix. I’ve been off for a while so now it’s time to remind people that at 147, Jamal ‘Shango’ James is here to take over.”
