Jake Paul and Tommy Fury announced their fight and went face-to-face on Saturday night, as their scheduled to fight at the end of February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The February 26th bout has been ill-fated up until this point.
For the reason, Paul has a back-up plan, Mike Perry, a wild man, who is a former UFC fighter.
“Yeah, look, a part of me definitely still doubts [Fury will fight],” Paul explained on Saturday night at OVO Arena Wembley in London during a press event. “…it’s scary and it’s annoying, and him not showing up to the face-to-face we were just supposed to do right now [at the press conference], it sucks, and the kid’s not necessarily reliable, but the money’s good, man, for him. So, he would just be so dumb [to not fight]. I think he’s probably tired of Molly making all the money in the relationship. He’s got a kid now, so he needs to help pay for some diapers.”
The Molly-Mae Hague in reference is, the mother of Fury’s newborn daughter, who is also a social media influencer. Tommy Fury, though a member of the fighting Fury family, and half-brother of WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, is also best known for celebrity status from television shows in the U.K.
“We have Mike Perry on standby,” Paul said. “Let’s go Mike Perry! Yeah, he’s ready to jump in, in case Tommy pulls out.”
Paul vs. Fury has been scrapped on two different occasions and now Mike Perry is the insurance policy so that if something happens to Fury, the event will go on.
