Naoya Inoue stopped Paul Butler in 11 rounds on Tuesday night in Japan making him the undisputed 118 lbs champion.
Now the unbeaten three-division world champion, and first-ever Japanese boxer to claim an undisputed world title, now wants to go to 122 lbs., and do it again.
“I will aim to do the same at super bantamweight,” Inoue told Jake Donovan of BoxingScene. “I plan to move up in weight,” confirmed Inoue. “When I do move up in weight to super bantamweight, I don’t think I will come back down.”
Inoue had issues making the 118 lbs weight limit, as it took him two tries to make the contracted weight.
Inoue continues to further his legacy - and we’re excited for what the future holds for him.
