Hot prospect Abdullah Mason added to Shakur Stevenson-Artem Harutyunyan broadcast

The eight-round bout featuring lightweight star Abdullah Mason against Puerto Rican veteran Luis Lebron at Newark’s Prudential Center on Saturday has been elevated to the ESPN main card, which is headlined by Shakur Stevenson’s WBC lightweight title defense against Artem Harutyunyan.

On the same bill, O’Shaquie Foster will defend his WBC junior-lightweight title against Brazilian Olympic gold medalist Robson Conceição in the co-feature, and lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis fights Mexican puncher Miguel Madueño over 10 round.   Mason (13-0, 11 KOs) has been pegged as a pound-for-pound star of the future since turning professional with Top Rank in November 2021. The southpaw has won three straight bouts by knockout – including a second-round blitzing of Jose Cardenas last November on the undercard of Stevenson’s decision victory over Edwin De Los Santos.

Mason last fought in April and broke down Venezuelan puncher Ronal Ron en route to a fourth-round stoppage. Lebron (20-5-1, 13 KOs), an 11-year professional, has never been knocked out and has won his past two.
