Eddie Hearn has already targeted two fights which he wants to put on the anticipated rematch between two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua & Dillian Whyte, which is set to be held on August 12 at the 02 Arena, London.
When speaking to IFLTV, Hearn revealed that he intended to announce a show for the end of July but has not stated that he will no longer do that and will focus on building a “Stacked” card to support the PPV card between Joshua & Whyte.
Hearn is targeting another heavyweight encounter to feature on the show between IBF mandatory challenger, Filip Hrgovic & Demsey McKean.
Hrgovic (15-0) was seen as many as fortunate to earn his mandatory position within the IBF ratings with a razor-thin but disputed points win over the current WBO mandatory challenger Zhilei Zhang (25-1-1) in Saudi Arabia last August via unanimous decision. However, Zhang has risen from the ashes of the defeat to Hrgovic with a punch-perfect showing against Joe Joyce to halt the previously unbeaten WBO #1 rated heavyweight. Zhang would defeat Joyce inside six rounds, and the pair will rematch in September to re-contest the WBO’s mandatory position to challenge unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Demsey McKean is also undefeated as a professional however, with twenty-two wins however is yet to face anyone within the same calibre as Hrgovic.
Also set to feature at long last is an often speculated bout between two of Matchroom Boxing’s up-and-coming middleweights in the shape of Felix Cash (16-0) & Austin Williams (14-0), of which Hearn has suggested that the fight between the will “almost certainly” be on the show.
A fight between Cash & Williams has been speculated over the previous twelve months however, logistical issues and injuries on behalf of Cash have previously curtailed attempts to have the fight signed and sealed between the pair.
