Devin Haney Vs Ryan Garcia is ‘done’.
Golden Boy’s Oscar De La Hoya was the first to announce the news via his X account with “Done!” Followed by a poster of the upcoming fight with the date of April 20th.
Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn quickly followed with “LET’S GO!!! What a fight April 20 live on DAZN - Devin Haney v Ryan Garcia one of the biggest fights in boxing.”
Golden Boy’s official social media channels state: “Signed, sealed, delivered…HANEY VS GARCIA set for the WBC junior welterweight world title on April 20th.
“#HaneyGarcia I Live on DAZN April 20th. In association with KingRy promotions [Ryan Garcia] Haney Promotions and Matchroom Boxing.”
Boxrec shows that the bout is set for Las Vegas with no specific venue.
Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) makes the first defence of his WBC 140 pound world title that he snatched from Regis Prograis in with a lopsided points win this past December in San Francisco.
Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) returned to winning ways against the little known Oscar Duarte Jurado with an eighth round knockout in Houston, Texas three months ago. He has previously suffered a career first loss to Gervonta Davis last April in Las Vegas, losing by a seventh round stoppage.
Hearn and De La Hoya’s promotional companies both have broadcast deals with DAZN, the fight will be shown exclusively on the streaming service worldwide.
