Jonathan Gonzalez vs. Gerardo Zapata: Live Stream, Betting Odds & Fight Card

A WBO junior flyweight title fight from the Alexis Arguello Sports Complex in Managua, Nicaragua, will add to the boxing-filled Friday night. The champion, Jonathan Gonzalez (27-3-1, 14 KOs), will take on Gerardo Zapata (14-1-1, 5 KOs), which will stream live on ESPN+ in the States. It’s another example of Top Rank & ESPN hosting these international cards that were hard to see in years past due to the unavailability of the stream.

Gonzalez was last seen in November, earning a unanimous decision victory over Shokichi Iwata (11-1, 8 KOs). Gonzalez has this fight with Zapata, which looks to serve as an interim one before facing Kenshiro Teraji (22-1, 14 KOs) in a huge junior flyweight unification. Can the 32-year-old from the Bronx, NY, continue his winning ways on the road?

Zapata will be fighting in his home country of Nicaragua and will have an opportunity to become a world champion. It’s a tough task as Gonzalez is a seasoned veteran, but Zapata, whose only blemish is a disqualification in December 2022, will put his skills to the test to see if he has what it takes to become a world champion. Zapata only has five knockouts in his sixteen bouts, so he must outbox Gonzalez to win a decision.
