Gervonta Davis Says He Is No Longer With Mayweather Promotions

Gervonta Davis let it be known he is no longer under any form of a contract with Mayweather Promotions

“First and foremost, love to Mayweather Promotions and all that they have done for me, but I am definitely out of my contract, for sure,” Davis said in the popular Twitter Spaces boxing chat hosted by @LazyLeftyOG.

Earlier this week it was announced that Gervonta Davis will be having a homecoming fight in Washington D.C. on Showtime pay-per-view clash against Hector Luis Garcia, set for January 7 at the Capital One Arena.

“It's just a test run right now with this, you know what I mean. I'm on my own. But much love to Mayweather Promotions, Leonard, Floyd, all them guys. I definitely appreciate them. I'm just doing my own thing now. That said in the future, we can't work together or anything like that. I'm just trying to put my own pants on,” said Davis to further elaborate on the situation as he has no harsh feeling for Mayweather Promotions and welcomes future partnerships.

Davis’ promotional company GTD Promotions, along with TGB Promotions, who often serves as the main promotional entity behind Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions series will put this fight card on.
