Just when you thought things couldn’t get weirder after yesterday’s press conference, today's weigh-in was full of surprises. Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) stepped on the scale at 142.8 pounds, while Oscar Duarte (26-1-1, 21 KOs) came in at 143. What wasn’t known before the weigh-in was that the fight had been changed to a catchweight of 143 pounds. Duarte, who has been campaigning at lightweight, is coming in even heavier than anticipated. No one asked why the catchweight was implemented or if it was in the contract from the start, but it just adds to the drama of the past few days.
