Franchon Crews-Dezurn vs. Savannah Marshall: Preview, Prediction & Betting Odds

We are only two days away from an intriguing women’s undisputed super middleweight title fight. The champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2 KOs), will be involved in her highest profile fight to date as she faces Savannah Marshall (12-1, 10 KOs) at the Manchester Arena in Lancashire, UK, live on ESPN+. Both women have been doing their fair share of media hits, with the champion appearing on CNN in the UK earlier this week while Marshall did the Sky Sports media run. It’s not an easy fight for either competitor, which makes this a must-watch on Saturday afternoon here in the States.

THIS IS THE MOMENT FRANCHON CREWS-DEZURN HAS BEEN WAITING FOR TO SHINE THE BRIGHTEST

The ‘Hard Hitting Diva’ ensures she is always ready for primetime in and out of the ring. It is admirable as she takes being a professional seriously. After one of her first fights with Golden Boy Promotions, she asked the media waiting for her if she could get a few minutes to fix herself up, as it was her first big post-fight conference, and she wanted to look good for it. I respected that, and no one had any issues with it because it meant that much to her. That is Crews-Dezurn, and she has fought hard to get to this moment where she is on CNN talking about her upcoming fight. Crews-Dezurn knows how important this fight is for her career and what is potentially waiting for her in the future if she gets by Marshall. Expect the best version of Crews-Dezurn as she attempts to beat Marshall and retain her titles.

WILL THE MOVE UP TO SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT BE WHAT SAVANNAH MARSHALL NEEDED ALL ALONG?

Things didn’t work out in October for the WBO middleweight champ (at the time) Marshall as she faced the self-proclaimed ‘GWOAT’ Claressa Shields (14-0, 2 KOs). The fight was close, but all three judges scored it for Shields. The rivalry started in the amateurs and was settled in the ring that night. Marshall saw an opportunity for the undisputed crown at super middleweight and felt she had a good shot against Crews-Dezurn. Marshall is the better boxer of the two, but Crews-Dezurn will apply pressure all night long, which will be hard for Marshall to handle. Although the betting odds make Marshall a comfortable favorite, she must be better than she was in October to become the undisputed super middleweight champion.

CREWS-DEZURN VS. MARSHALL PREDICTION

Although Crews-Dezurn is fighting across the pond, she is still the bigger super middleweight, and I don’t see Marshall knocking her out or keeping Crews-Dezurn off of her. This fight will go to the scorecards, and the titles will remain with the undisputed super middleweight champion Crews-Dezurn.
