Mayweather and 'KingRy' Garcia extend relationship into 2024

Floyd Mayweather and Ryan Garcia are extending their relationship into 2024 as the pair were seen on video training alongside one another this week in Las Vegas.

The footage was filmed by Inside Fighting's Andrew Capucetti, and shows the Hall of Famer and the popular super lightweight boxer running, talking, and laughing in the middle of the night.

Watch it right here:

With his fast hands, explosing fighting style, and social media following, Garcia is one of the biggest names in the sport.

In 2023 he took part in the best-selling combat sports event of the year when he fought Gervonta Davis but came unstuck because of a body shot in the seventh round.

Garcia rebounded late in the year with an eighth-round knockout win over Oscar Duarte.

Though Garcia is tied to Golden Boy Promotions, as ProBox TV understands there is still 1-2 years remaining on his deal, there has been a public spat between the fighter and the founder Oscar de la Hoya.

Mayweather, meanwhile, told Fight Hype last year that if Garcia were ever a free agent then he'd love to bring him into Mayweather Promotions, or Premier Boxing Champions, or both.

"I'm not looking to sign Ryan, but if he wants to sign and he's free, I'll sign him," Mayweather said. "But if I'm not mistaken, he's under contract. You always have to make sure things are worded right before you get a lawsuit or before you get a letter from a boxer's promoter."

He added: "To hypothetically say, if Ryan Garcia gets free, will Ryan Garcia be with Mayweather Promotions or PBC? Absolutely. Only if he's free. Who don't want to work with the best? Nobody is more knowledgeable about the sport of boxing than me."

Garcia also posted on Instagram last year that he was "just working … listening and learning from one of the best in the world" during what appeared to be a training session at the gym.

Though Garcia's next move isn't official, he has been linked with the 25-year-old super lightweight Devin Haney, who won the WBC championship last month with a unanimous decision win over Regis Prograis.

Haney, unfazed at Garcia's involvement with Mayweather, messaged his rival in a leaked private message on social media, saying: "Floyd can't save or help you."
