Elvis Rodriguez vs. Joseph Adorno, Feb.25th

Elvis Rodriguez’s lengthy layoff has been scheduled to end February 25.

Keith Idec of BoxingScene.com was the first to report that the year-long layoff for Elvis Rodriguez will end as he will fight Joseph Adorno next month in a junior welterweight bout on Showtime taking place from The Armory in Minneapolis.

The card will feature Subriel Matias against Jeremias Ponce for the vacant IBF junior welterweight title, with no official main event announced, but fans are hoping for a Stephen Fulton versus Brandon Figueroa II rematch which has been speculated for this date.

Rodriguez is still rebuilding after losing a one-sided decision to Kenny Sims Jr., and sub sequential being released from promotional contract with Top Rank Inc.

His opponent, Joseph Adorno was also released from his Top Rank contract after missing weight various times, and had a solid showing against Michel Rivera, in which Adorno suffered his lone-career loss.

It is sink-or-swim time for both fighters.
