Edgar Berlanga Leaves Top Rank Inc.

As first reported by Mike Coppinger of ESPN, Edgar Berlanga is no longer with the promoter who built him up to being a main event draw in Top Rank Inc.

Berlanga, a good ticket seller in the New York City marker will now be a free agent as he looks to land a major marquee super middleweight bout, and one can’t help to think he might follow wherever Canelo Alvarez be for his next deal, as the two are in the same weight class.

Berlanga’s manager, Keith Connolly, and those involved representing Top Rank reached a separation agreement Wednesday morning after months planning the next course of action for the undefeated fighters career.

Berlanga spent most of 2022 on the sidelines as on June 11th, Berlanga was fined $10,000 and suspended six months for attempting to bite Alexis Angulo’s left shoulder.

This suspension has seen him essential waste this year.

No word on plans of where Berlanga will end up.
