Eddie Hearn Favors Fury Over Usyk

Eddie Hearn, promoter for Anthony Joshua, and one who enjoys a good interview feels that the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury should be favored in 2023 if he were to face fellow IBF, WBA, and WBO heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk.

The two, Usyk and Fury, have had some very boring social media rants that got fans excited but never made inroads on actual fight.

“I probably give the edge to Tyson Fury because of his size. I just feel like I’ve always overlooked him in fights, like Klitschko, Wilder, so I should give him the respect that he deserves. But I do think Usyk is very tough to beat.”

This speculation leads to questions from media outlets asking famous people about the outcome of this said dream fight, hence why Hearn was asked.

Fury, is set to face Derek Chisora in a trilogy fight on Dec. 3rd, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which will hopefully be a prelude to an Usyk fight in 2023.

“I got criticism on that because I said I don’t think it’s a great fight… but I think it’s a compelling fight,” Hearn said to IntuBoxing. “You’ve got two very awkward, tricky customers. For a hardcore boxing fan I think it would be fascinating, but they wouldn’t just start knocking lumps out of each other."
